    A: The starter motor disassembly begins by removing the nut and disconnecting the lead wire from the magnetic switch assembly. Two screws need removal to separate the magnetic switch from the starter drive housing before extracting the magnet starter switch assembly together with its return spring and plunger. First remove two through-bolts then pull out the starter yoke assembly with the starter commutator end frame assembly before separating these two assemblies from each other. Follow this step by taking off the starter armature assembly plate from the starter yoke assembly while using a screwdriver to pry out the starter commutator end frame cover. Install snap ring pliers to extract the snap ring along with the plate washer before removing the starter armature assembly from the starter commutator end frame assembly while preventing accidental drops of the starter armature assembly. End the procedure by discarding the three planetary gears from the starter drive housing.
