How to reassemble the alternator on 2009 Toyota Highlander?

Start rebuilding the alternator by putting the generator drive end frame on the generator pulley then setting up the generator rotor on the drive end frame followed by adding a washer to the rotor. Insert the generator coil through a 21 mm socket wrench into the press at a slow speed and fasten it with 4 bolts while tightening them to 5.9 Nm of torque. Insert two brushes into the holder and fit in a 1 mm (0.0394 in.) fixing pin. Then mount the holder using two screws which need to be tightened to 1.8 Nm (18 kgf-cm). Remove the pin afterwards. Secure the terminal insulator to the generator coil before attaching the 3 nuts on the generator rear end cover with 47 kgf-cm (4.6 Nm) torque. Set the generator pulley in place by hand and attach the generator to a vise. Then use the device set (09820-63021) and clutch tool to secure the pulley. You need to exert 80 Nm or 58 Nm using proper torque wrench settings at a 260 mm fulcrum. Keep the drive end frame secured in the vise during these steps. Verify the smooth rotation of the generator pulley and attach a fresh generator pulley cap to its surface.
