- Q: How to remove the side Mud Flaps and its associated moulding sub-assemblies on 2008 Toyota Highlander?A: Start the side mudguard removal process by warming the vehicle body along with the side mudguard through use of a heat light while taking care to prevent excessive heating. Start the front fender moulding sub-assembly removal by disconnecting the clip followed by using a 4 mm hexagon wrench to unscrew the screw and peeling off the front fender side protector. Disengage the 3 clips and take out the sub-assembly. First remove the front fender moulding sub-assembly pad and its 2 No. 4 clips then take out the front fender outside moulding pad. To take out the front door outside moulding sub-assembly you must first turn back the front door Weather Strip before you remove the nut and peel off the upper front door outside moulding pad to disengage the 11 clips thus enabling sub-assembly removal with gasket and the 3 No. 3 clips along with the 8 No. 4 clips. The last procedure requires turning back the rear door No. 2 Weather Strip before removing the nut and separating the upper rear door outside moulding pad from its 8 clips to extract the complete sub-assembly containing gasket along with 2 No. 3 clips and 6 No. 4 clips.
