2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace a Fuel Level Sensor on 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
A: Starting the fuel level sensor removal process requires a step of discharging fuel system pressure. The second step requires removing the cable from the negative side of the battery terminal. The service starts by removing the front door scuff plate LH then proceeding to remove the rear door scuff plate LH. First remove the rear floor service hole cover and later take out the rear seat cushion assembly LH. You must disconnect both components of the fuel tank to filler pipe hose and the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly. The mechanic should first detach the No. 1 fuel tank protector sub-assembly and then separate the fuel tank main tube and fuel tank return tube along with the fuel tank vent hose. After removing the fuel tank assembly the service team will take out the fuel tank main tube and fuel tank return tube once more. The fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly need removal before disconnecting the fuel level sensor gauge connector and removing the fuel level sensor gauge by unlocking it for extraction.
