2008 Toyota Corolla Fuel Pressure Regulator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install the Fuel Pressure Regulator and completing the final assembly steps on 2008 Toyota Corolla?
A: Customers need to treat the new O-rings with a thin gasoline or spindle oil layer before installing the fuel pump O-ring followed by the fuel pump O-ring installation until entering the fuel filter without damaging or trapping the O-ring. Place two new O-rings under gasoline or spindle oil before you install them onto the fuel pressure regulator step. Then insert the regulator into the fuel filter while verifying the correct installation of the O-ring. The 5 claws should be engaged for proper installation of the fuel pump filter onto the fuel filter. First engage the claws to fix the No. 1 fuel suction support to the fuel suction plate followed by connecting both fuel pump harness connectors. First install the fuel suction plate with spring into the fuel suction case by using two claws followed by applying one claw to mount the fuel pump filter onto the fuel suction case with installation of a new E-ring. The fuel sender gauge arm (A) needs to be fitted to its claw (A) before connecting the fuel sender gauge connector (B). When installing the fuel pump gauge retainer it is essential to align its marks with the fuel tank marks simultaneously while holding the tube to check that the fuel sender gauge arm remains unbent. Applying Special Service Tool: 09808-14020, torques the fuel pump gauge retainer to 2 revolutions until it reaches the specified range. Perform this procedure only with the special tool rather than using a screwdriver. Connect the fuel tank vent hose through the correct alignment of its connector with the pipe then push it firmly until it clicks while properly inspecting for damage between connection points. To connect the fuel tank main tube use the fuel tube joint to pierce the fuel suction plate plug then put on the tube joint clip. Check for scratches or foreign matter and validate proper joint insertion. Install the cable to the negative terminal using 5.4 Nm torque while checking for fuel leaks with the fuel pump connector attached before placing the rear seat cushion assembly with four screws.
