2008 Toyota Corolla Fuel Injector Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the fuel injector on 2008 Toyota Corolla?
A: Starting the procedure of removing the 1ZZ-FE engine fuel injector involves fuel system pressure discharge and negative battery terminal cable removal. The next step requires you to take off the 2 clips and 2 nuts from the No. 2 cylinder head cover. The procedure to remove the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly begins with ventilation hose disconnect from the cylinder head cover followed by separating the 4 fuel injector connectors and taking off the 3 wire harness clamps from clamp brackets and the fuel pipe clamp No. 1. Before extracting the fuel tube disconnect it properly while holding the fuel tube connector retainer between your fingers. A verification of connector cleanliness must occur along with cleaning and protection against all foreign materials entering the connector. The quick connector must be removed manually while avoiding any deformation of nylon tubes and should be kept in a plastic bag for protection. When the pipe and connector become stuck you should carefully move the connector by both wiggling it and pushing and pulling it to loosen it up. Use tweezers to extract the fuel delivery pipe accompanied by its fuel injector after unscrewing the three bolts while keeping the injectors from falling. Finish the procedure by removing both delivery pipe spacers as well as four head insulators from the cylinder and extracting the 4 fuel injectors from the delivery pipe.
