2008 Toyota Corolla Fuel Injector Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the fuel injector assembly on 2008 Toyota Corolla?
A: A fuel injector installation requires applying gasoline or spindle oil to new O-rings which must be put onto each fuel injector before adding the fuel delivery pipe. Before inserting the fuel injectors on the fuel delivery pipe ensure that you first apply gasoline or spindle oil to both ends of the O-ring which meets the fuel injector and then reapply the oil to the O-ring before proceeding with installation. Also make sure the O-ring is not damaged nor jammed. The fuel injector rotation requires inspection during its installation steps; if smooth motion is not detected then new O-rings need replacement. The fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly should start with 4 new insulators being placed into the cylinder head before adding the 2 delivery pipe No. 1 spacers which need correct directional installation. Relations between the fuel delivery pipe and its 4 fuel injectors will be secured using 3 temporary bolt installations. When checking the fuel injector rotation for smoothness you should replace the O-ring if it does not move properly. The specified torque settings for the 3 bolts should be Bolt A at 19 Nm with a torque rating of 194 kgf-cm alongside Bolt B at 9.0 Nm with a torque rating of 92 kgf-cm. Connect the fuel tube through the process of matching the fuel tube connector to the pipe before pushing until the retainer snaps into place. Check the fuel tube connection security by pulling on the fuel tube connector after verifying the area around the connection has no scratches or foreign objects. Hook up the fuel pipe clamp No. 1 and the 3 wire harness clamps and establish the 4 fuel injector connectors. Secure the ventilation hose at the cylinder head cover but position the hose clamp in the correct direction. Refasten the cable to the negative battery terminal while tightening it to 5.4 Nm torque (55 kgf-cm or 48 in-lbf). Installing the No. 2 cylinder head cover requires fitting its 2 nuts and 2 clips while applying torque of 7.0 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 62 in-lbf).
