- Q: How to install the windshield glass on 2008 Toyota Camry?A: Begin the windshield glass installation by applying Primer G to No. 2 stoppers at their installation area and drying for 3 minutes before wiping off remaining primer. Put two new No. 2 stoppers on the windshield glass followed by coating the new retainers' application area on the windshield with Primer G using the same drying and excess removal process. Install the two standardized retainers. Attach 2 new type 2 stoppers to the vehicle body through the 2-part system. To install a new moulding on the windshield apply Primer G to the correct alignment area then place it in position when dry. Before placing a new adhesive dam over the notch areas, apply Primer G to the dam area and let it dry. Use a suction cup to position the windshield glass assembly before you take it away once it settles evenly against its matchmarks. Spread Primer M only on the vehicle surface that will accept components and wait for it to set. Use Primer G on ceramic notches and apply it to the adhesive site before installing Toyota genuine windshield glass adhesive or equal parts. Firmly put the windshield glass assembly in place when its matchmarks properly align and press the border evenly. Also check if stoppers are set correctly and the windshield meets air gap standards. Press gently on the front glass surface and use a scraper tool to alter adhesive application if needed. Keep the windshield in position with protective tape until the adhesive dries completely and refrain from operating the vehicle during the required time interval. Once adhesive cures examine it for defects by spraying from outside then let it dry before reinstalling the protective tape and adding more glue if needed when required leaks are located. Install the roof headlining besides other components including front assist grip and visor holder assemblies. Maintain the front door opening trim weather strips then complete the procedures by reattaching the power source terminal.
