    Primer G application begins the windshield glass installation process with the No. 2 windshield glass stoppers where minimal primer usage is required for at least 3 minutes of drying time before wiping away extra primer. After placing two new No. 2 stoppers on the windshield glass the installer must apply Primer G to the retainers before installing two new retainers. Afterwards you should position two new No. 1 stoppers to the vehicle body. A mixture of Primer G goes onto the moulding area followed by installation of a new moulding. When using the adhesive dam you should first apply Primer G to its installation area before the liquid dries while you install a fresh adhesive dam against the ceramic notches. Install the windshield glass assembly by using a suction cup on its contact surface and checking alignment of matchmarks before removing it. First apply Primer M to the vehicle body section where the adhesive will not be placed followed by Primer G application on the adhesive area especially around the ceramic notches. Use Toyota genuine windshield glass adhesive or equivalent and apply it within the prescribed period after cutting the cartridge nozzle. Place the windshield glass assembly while lining up the matchmarks and apply gentle pressure along the rim until the stoppers are in the correct position while checking the overall clearance. Slight pressure on the front side of glass requires the possible use of a scraper to modify the adhesive. Use adhesive or equivalent to secure the glass frame with protective covering before the adhesive reaches necessary hardness. Also avoid operating the vehicle during the minimum application time. Inspect the leaks by applying water from outside after adhesive curing. Additional adhesive may be necessary when leaks are detected before removing protective tape.

    The first step to remove the windshield glass involves disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable. Begin by separating the front wiper arm with blade assembly LH that bears part number 85212-0C010 and RH which carries part number 85211-0C010 followed by the front fender to cowl side seal LH constructed with part number 53812-0C010 and RH uniting with part number 53811-0C010. The technicians must remove the windshield glass by starting with the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly (part number: 55810-0C010) coupled with the inner rear view mirror assembly for both TMC (part number: 87810-0C010) and TMMK (part number: 87810-0C020), and in cases with an EC mirror the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover (part number: 87820-0C010). The front door opening trim Weather Strip ("67812-0C010") and its counterpart on the right-hand side ("67811-0C010") must be removed first from the vehicle before the front pillar garnish ("67820-0C010") and ("67821-0C010") together with the roof console box assembly ("63210-0C010") and visor assembly ("74310-0C010", "74320-0C010," "74330-0C010") and front assist grip sub-assembly ("67830-0C010"). The roof headlining assembly needs its front section to reduce in height so you can remove the windshield glass. You need to carefully trim the windshield moulding with a knife keeping the vehicle body undamaged before removing all moulding from the windshield glass. The process of removing windshield glass assembly requires protective tape placement at installation points and the use of piano wire between body and glass that gets tied to wooden blocks and the cutting off of adhesive while suction cups secure the glass. Apply matchmarks to the glass and vehicle body when glass reuse is planned before slow removal of the glass assembly. A scraper should gently remove the window glass adhesive dam without causing damage to the glass before installing a new one. Start by using a scraper to remove the No. 2 windshield glass stoppers which have a part number of 75310-0C010 together with the windshield glass retainers (part number: 75320-0C010) while avoiding damage to the glass before installing new components. The replacement procedure for No. 1 windshield glass stoppers (part number: 75330-0C010) must be performed. A scraper and non-residue solvent should be used to remove adhesive tape and residue from windshield glass before stopping contact with the glass surface. To finish the body cleaning process shape the contact area then use adhesive remover to cut off thick adhesive and apply the solvent to a cleaning cloth that should leave maximum adhesive on the body surface.
