- Q: How to remove the throttle body on 2008 Toyota Camry?A: The first step for removing the throttle body from the 2AZ-FE engine control system is draining the engine coolant. After removing the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly you must disconnect and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly by separating the mass air flow meter connector ( 1), the purge VSV connector ( 2), the two purge VSV vacuum hoses ( 3), and the purge line hose from the clamp ( 4). The procedure requires users to disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose from the air cleaner hose, secure the No. 1 air cleaner hose clamp then remove the air cleaner hose from the throttle body. Detach the two bolts and air cleaner cap before pulling out the air cleaner filter element from the air cleaner housing. Next follow procedures to take away the air cleaner case sub-assembly. Production of the throttle body requires users to disconnect the throttle position sensor connector and wire harness clamp afterwards they need to remove four bolts that secure the fuel pipe support and throttle body. The intake manifold requires removal of the purge line hose along with the water by-pass hose, the No. 2 water by-pass hose and the No. 1 throttle body hose from the throttle body before removing its gasket.
