• Q: How to service and repair the throttle body on 2007 Toyota Camry?

  A: The throttle body repair requires users to drain engine coolant after disconnecting mass air flow meter connector ( 1), purge VSV connector ( 2) and two purge VSV vacuum hoses ( 3) along with the purge line hose from the clamp ( 4) and No. 2 ventilation hose from the air cleaner hose. The service starts with clamping the No. 1 air cleaner hose and pulling it from the throttle body. After removing the two bolts and the air cleaner cap the air cleaner filter element gets removed from the air cleaner case. The air cleaner case sub-assembly and throttle body require separation after disconnecting the throttle position sensor connector and wire harness clamp along with removal of four bolts and subsequent separation of the purge line hose and water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose and No. 1 throttle body hose from the throttle body before removing the intake manifold gasket. Install a new gasket on the intake manifold and join the components by fitting purge line hose to the throttle body and also by connecting the water by-pass hose, the No. 2 water by-pass hose and the No. 1 throttle body hose. Then use four bolts to fix the throttle body and fuel pipe clamp while torquing up to 30 N.m (305 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lbf). Finish off with fuel tube and throttle position sensor connector and wire harness clamp. First, install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly after fitting the air cleaner filter element onto the air cleaner case and attaching the hinges together with the bolts securing the cap assembly. To connect the No. 1 air cleaner hose with the throttle body, align its matchmarks then position the hose at the correct angle before unattaching its clamp. Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose to the air cleaner hose as well as attach the purge line hose to the clamp 1. Then link the purge VSV connector 3 to its vacuum lines 4 and the mass air flow meter connector 4. To complete the procedure install the air cleaner inlet assembly while adding engine coolant followed by leak detection of the engine coolant system before finally fastening the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.
