2008 Toyota Camry Air Bag Control Module Parts Q&A
Q: How to service the Air Bag Control Module and remove the Center Air Bag Sensor Assembly on 2008 Toyota Camry?
A: Begin service by reading all safety precautions before starting to work on the Air Bag Control Module and Center Air Bag Sensor Assembly. Unplug the battery cable from its negative terminal to wait for 90 seconds and stop any Air Bag activation. During Automatic Transaxle vehicle servicing you need to take off the Shift Lever Knob Sub-Assembly then the No. 1 and No. 2 Instrument Cluster Finish Panel Garnish. Detach the floor shift position indicator housing from its position. For cars with a manual transaxle disconnect the Shift Lever Knob Sub-Assembly and the Upper Console Panel. First take out the Upper Console Rear Panel Sub-Assembly from both transaxle types then move to take out the Upper Console Panel Sub-Assembly. Disassemble the Front Door Scuff Plate from both left and right sides, along with the Cowl Side Trim Sub-Assemblies and take away the Instrument Panel No. 2 Under Cover Sub-Assembly and Lower Instrument Panel. Proceed to take off all Console Box components including the pocket, carpet, assembly, and both insert fronts. When the vehicle has Automatic Air Conditioning System remove the No. 1 Console Box Duct. To take out the Center Air Bag Sensor Assembly you must first flip back the carpeting then detach the holder unit from its connectors before unscrewing all 3 bolts that hold it in place.
