Start by dividing the left side of the LH brake caliper unit for the rear disc brake until you can remove the component. The service begins by taking out the parking brake shoe return tension No. 1 spring and subsequently the parking brake shoe strut. The technician should first remove the No.1 parking brake shoe assembly with its parking brake shoe adjusting screw set before extracting the No.2 parking brake shoe assembly. The work continues with removing the shift lever knob sub-assembly followed by the position indicator housing assembly together with the console panel sub-assembly upper and the console box assembly. First disconnect component No.4 from the parking brake cable assembly before removing component No.3 through separating the clip from its connection with the parking brake equalizer. First separate the backing plate from the clamp by unfastening its two bolts before disassembling the parking brake cable assembly No.3 through removal of illustrated 4 bolts and one nut.
