How to remove the Liftgate Lift Support on the LH side on 2008 Toyota 4Runner?

You must first support the hood by hand before detaching the back door support on the LH side. Start by removing the 2 bolts and the damper stay from the door panel. Separate the vehicle body from its attached damper stay through the removal of its mounting bolt followed by the detach process. The removal process also applies to the RH side. The torque specification for an untorqued bolt exists in the standard bolt chart under Specifications/Mechanical Specifications/Standard Bolt - Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.
