How to replace the Liftgate Lift Support on the left-hand side on 2007 Toyota 4Runner?

First prepare the LH side by removing the 2 bolts and the damper stay which are attached to the door panel while holding the hood with care to detach the hood support. Detaching the damper stay from the vehicle body requires first loosening the bolt then removing the stay from its position. When installing the damper stay use three bolts with torque specifications of 19.5 N.m for the door while the body requires 17.5 N.m torque. Installation procedures for the RH side follow the same method.
