- Q: How to service the Air Filter Box on 2008 Scion xD?A: The service procedure for air filter box begins with taking out the mass air flow meter. The service process starts by disconnecting the No. 2 ventilation hose followed by opening the air filter box hose clamp then unfastening the air filter box assembly clamp before removing the air filter box cap sub-assembly together with its attached air filter box hose. First disconnect the wire harnesses then remove the air filter box filter element in the following step. Untwist the two bolts to completely separate the air filter box case with its integrated No. 1 air filter box. First remove the intake air resonator and then detach the air filter box hose from the No. 1 air filter box cap sub-assembly after loosening its clamp. The procedure ends by taking the inlet No. 1 air filter box out of its position in the air filter box case.
