Air Cleaner Assembly

Start the air filter box assembly installation for 2ZR-FE intake by setting the inlet No. 1 air filter box onto the air filter box case. Connect the No. 1 air filter box hose to the air filter box cap sub-assembly with an air filter box hose clamp that should be torqued to 3.0 Nm (31 kgf-cm, 27 in-lbf). You should mount the intake air resonator with its air hose clamp while maintaining a torque of 3.0 Nm (31 kgf-cm, 27 in-lbf). Secure the air filter box case with the inlet No. 1 air filter box by applying 2 bolts to 7.8 Nm (80 kgf-cm, 69 in-lbf). Install the air filter box filter element before securing the air filter box cap and air filter box hose and clamp the air filter box hose to 3.0 Nm (31 kgf-cm, 27 in-lbf). The end step is to connect the No. 2 ventilation hose. The installation of the mass air flow meter requires execution according to powertrain management system guidelines.

The service procedure for air filter box begins with taking out the mass air flow meter. The service process starts by disconnecting the No. 2 ventilation hose followed by opening the air filter box hose clamp then unfastening the air filter box assembly clamp before removing the air filter box cap sub-assembly together with its attached air filter box hose. First disconnect the wire harnesses then remove the air filter box filter element in the following step. Untwist the two bolts to completely separate the air filter box case with its integrated No. 1 air filter box. First remove the intake air resonator and then detach the air filter box hose from the No. 1 air filter box cap sub-assembly after loosening its clamp. The procedure ends by taking the inlet No. 1 air filter box out of its position in the air filter box case.

Loosen the air cleaner hose clamp to remove the air cleaner hose from the No. 1 air cleaner cap sub-assembly, and then extract the inlet No. 1 air cleaner from the air cleaner case.

Remove the inlet No. 1 air cleaner from the air cleaner case.
