You should drain all engine oil before replacing the oil filter that belongs to the 2ZR-FE engine by removing the oil pan drain plug. Application of engine oil to a new O-ring follows cleaning the inside of the oil filter cap where threads and O-ring groove reside. Install the O-ring onto the cap before inserting a new oil filter element into it. A new oil filter element should receive engine oil on its O-ring before the cap reinstall. Wash the engine mounting surface then place the new oil filter element into the cap. Another skill usage tool known as Special Service Tool: 09228-06501 enables users to tighten the cap with a force of 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf) to install the oil filter correctly without damaging the O-ring. Complete engine oil addition follows a check of the recommended oil amount while also looking for both leaks and proper oil level measurement.
