2008 Scion xB Air Bag Control Module Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the Air Bag Control Module on 2008 Scion xB?
A: A 90-second wait after disconnecting the negative battery cable is necessary to avoid deploying the Air Bags followed by removing the Air Bag Control Module. Workers need to first remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly for manual transaxle after which they should take out the instrument cluster finish center lower panel and proceed to the front No. 2 and front No. 1 console box inserts. The next step is removing the instrument panel finish lower panel. Both automatic transaxles require the removal of the transmission control cable assembly and manual transaxles need the additional removal of this assembly. You must eliminate both the automatic and manual transaxle shift lever assemblies one after another. Disconnection of the negative battery terminal is necessary before headset removal by pulling down the lever followed by unbolting the 3 screws from the Air Bag sensor assembly.
