  A: The radiator rebuilding process begins with installing the radiator tank LH after checking the core plate groove for foreign matter then putting in a new O-ring without twisting it; a light sanding with sandpaper is needed for the groove if required. You should install the radiator tank without harming the O-ring before using a soft-faced hammer to strike the core plate until all gaps between the core plate and radiator tank disappear. Repetition will occur when installing the radiator tank RH following the same procedure previously performed on the radiator tank LH. Use Special Service Tool 09230-01010 and 09231-01010 and 09231-01020 to insert the punch assembly into part A of the overhaul handle until the stopper bolt reaches a standard dimension B of 8.4 mm (0.331 in.). Special Service Tool: 09230-01010 needs to be applied gently against the core plate according to specific instructions while using the stopper bolt to reach full caulk by holding the handle until stopped before tapping would occur only on non-bracket or pipe or rib areas with pliers used for any indicated locations in the illustration. Post-caulking inspections must verify that the core plate height (H) ranges from 8.7 to 9.1 mm (0.343 to 0.358 in.); adjust the stopper bolt after this check for another caulk process.
