Before starting the removal process for the Cigarette Lighter it is essential to disconnect the negative battery cable for 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The first step requires removing both the shift lever knob sub-assembly for manual transaxle and the front console panel upper from the vehicle. First detach the rear console panel sub-assembly upper and the rear console box sub-assembly. Completion of the Cigarette Lighter removal process requires first turning the socket indicator and then disconnecting the claw from the socket and Cigarette Lighter cover to extract the assembly. The Cigarette Lighter removal is completed by having the socket fit properly into the notch on the Cigarette Lighter cover.
