How to remove the Auxiliary Cigarette Lighter on 2009 Scion tC?

Before removing the Cigarette Lighter first disconnect the negative battery cable then wait for a minimum period of 90 seconds to avoid activating Air Bags and seat belts pretensioners. The next order of business requires removing the shift lever knob sub-assembly for manual transaxle then proceeding to the upper front console panel and upper rear console panel sub-assembly as well as the rear console box sub-assembly. Separate the power point socket assembly through a turning motion according to the illustration which releases the claw from the socket to power point socket cover then pull out the socket. Complete unfastening of the power point socket occurs when you correctly place the socket into the notch present on the socket cover.
