2008 Scion tC Air Bag Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to service the Air Bag Sensor while ensuring safety precautions for the SRS Air Bag system on 2008 Scion tC?
A: The first step for impact sensor servicing involves reading the safety instructions about SRS Air Bag system operations. The procedure starts with disconnecting the cable attached to the negative terminal while ensuring at least 90 seconds pass before proceeding. Following this step prevents the Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners from activating. The service for the impact sensor starts with removal of the shift lever knob sub-assembly for manual transaxle operations together with the front console upper panel assembly and the console upper rear panel sub-assembly and the rear console box assembly. The Air Bag sensor connectors need to be removed before taking out the 3 bolts holding the center Air Bag sensor assembly in place.
