2007 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2007 Toyota Yaris?
A: The first step for clutch release cylinder service and repair requires brake fluid drainage followed by clutch release cylinder separation from the flexible hose tube through the use of Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 while storing collected fluid in a container. After draining brake fluid you should remove the clutch release cylinder assembly by unfastening its two bolts. Service the release cylinder by removing all components sequentially starting with the boot followed by push rod and piston and spring from the cylinder body while continuously protecting its internal surfaces and removing bleeder plug cap from bleeder plug at all times. Reassembly of the components requires the installation of a new spring onto the cylinder body before adding lithium soap base glycol grease to the assembled parts. The bleeder plug cap must also be installed onto the bleeder plug. Place the piston followed by push rod and boot inside the cylinder body. Rephrase the following sentence. Install the clutch release cylinder assembly with 2 bolts receiving 12 N m (120 kgf cm, 8.7 ft. lbf) torque while connecting the clutch release cylinder to flexible hose tubing through Special Service Tool: 09023-00101, then torque to 15 N m (153 kgf cm, 11 ft. lbf). After filling the brake reservoir tank with brake fluid the technician should complete clutch system bleeding followed by examination for leakage and proper torque setting of the bleeder plug to 8.3 N m (85 kgf cm, 73 in. lbf).
