2007 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and install the Front No. 1 Car Speakers for the Hatchback on 2007 Toyota Yaris?
A: The first step to remove the Front No. 1 Speaker for the Hatchback is disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. The first step requires removing the front door window regulator handle assembly while keeping power windows in mind followed by a sequence of removing the front door armrest cover and the front door armrest base upper panel. You can start by removal of the front door trim board sub-assembly. Before drilling the three rivets from the speaker assembly it is necessary to disconnect its connector and use a drill with a bit under 4 mm (0.16 in.) to drill out the rivet heads. After drilling, carefully cut out and discard the flange around each rivet head while keeping the drill straight to prevent door structure damage. A vacuum will clean any debris that remains from drilling the rivet pieces inside the door panels. Use an air or hand operated riveter to install the front No. 1 speaker assembly onto the door panel by using 3 strike rivets which should tightly fit next to the speaker unit. Follow the speaker connector reinstallation with the front door trim board sub-assembly and proceed to install the front door armrest base upper panel followed by the front door armrest cover and front door window regulator handle assembly when needed. Finally, reconnect the cable by torquing it to 5.4 N.m at the negative battery terminal (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf).
