2007 Toyota Yaris A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the A/C Condenser from a sedan on 2007 Toyota Yaris?
A: The first step for condenser removal from the sedan includes draining refrigerant from the refrigeration system along with disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal. The first step is to detach the front spoiler cover and front bumper cover and No. 1 cooler cover. The hood lock assembly faces its own removal process before performing the extraction of the radiator support sub-assembly upper. The procedure requires disconnection of No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose after removing its bolt along with disconnecting and removing the O-ring. Use vinyl tape to block off the disconnected components' openings and stop moisture as well as foreign substance entry. Remove the bolt from liquid tube sub-assembly A to separate it from the liquid tube while also taking out the O-ring before closing the openings with vinyl tape. The condenser removal process begins by opening the 2 claws followed by removal of the condenser from the vehicle while avoiding contact damage between the condenser and radiator. Position the two claws to install the condenser keeping the condenser and radiator free from damage. The installation of a new condenser requires a 40 cc (1.35 fl. oz.) addition of ND-OIL8 or equivalent compressor oil in the condenser. Begin by detaching the vinyl tape from sub-assembly A then apply enough compressor oil to a new O-ring before installing it onto the liquid tube and using the bolt to connect it to the condenser. To install the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose you must remove vinyl tape then apply oil to a new O-ring before installing it on the discharge hose and fastening it to the condenser with the bolt at a torque of 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf). Install first the radiator support sub-assembly upper and the hood lock assembly with and without theft deterrent system before continuing with No. 1 cooler cover and front bumper cover and front spoiler cover. You should adjust the hood lock assembly before connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal while torquing it to 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf). During the last stage of installation you should charge refrigerant then heat up the engine to inspect for refrigerant leakages.
