2007 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: The service requirement for the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch involves breaking the negative battery cable then waiting at least 90 seconds after ignition switch deactivation to enable navigation system data storage. The procedure begins with removing the surge tank from the intake air section then continuing with the No. 1 and No. 2 fuel sub-assemblies disconnect. Begin service by uninstalling the intake manifold through connector removal for the six fuel injectors while taking out ten bolts together with two gaskets. You should disconnect and remove the engine coolant temperature sensor connector while simultaneously taking away the sensor along with its gasket. Place a new sensor gasket before installing the sensor with 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) torque then connect the sensor connector. Completely install the intake manifold through port hole alignment in each cylinder head using correct installation direction while setting new gaskets at each interface. Set the intake manifold on the cylinder heads while performing multiple bolt-tightening steps until they reach 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf). Then reinstall the 6 fuel injector connectors. The procedure ends with a reinstallation of the intake air surge tank followed by connecting No. 2 and No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assemblies and adding engine coolant while mentioning that some systems might need initial setup after reconnecting the negative battery terminal cable. The inspection process needs to include checking for engine coolant leaks as the final step.
