2007 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel injector on 2007 Toyota Solara?
A: The service and repair of the fuel injector begins with draining fuel system pressure before uninstalling the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and engine cover sub-assembly No. 1. Carefully take out the fuel delivery pipe with its injectors while disconnecting the fuel tube sub-assembly despite keeping the injectors from falling loose. The service requires removal of ventilation hose Number 2 and connector separation from each of the 4 injectors along with disconnection of 2 clamps and harness wires from the delivery pipe. You need to remove two bolts to receive the delivery pipe coupled with its four injectors and afterward eliminate the two spacers found on the cylinder head. To install the system begin with installing new insulators on each injector after applying grease or gasoline to a fresh O-ring for the injector and the delivery pipe O-ring area. To install the fuel injector within the delivery pipe, carefully twist it back and forth before checking the smooth rotation after installation. Reinstall with a new O-ring if the smooth rotation is not achieved. Orientation of the injector connector needs to be positioned towards the downward direction. Set the cylinder head alongside the 2 spacers before inserting the delivery pipe with its 4 injectors. After that, loosely secure the 2 delivery pipe bolts to the cylinder head. Secure the 2 bolts to 20 N.m torque (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) while inspecting that the 4 injector connectors show an outward-facing position. Connect the 4 injector connectors through the wire harness after fastening the 2 clamps then reinstall the ventilation hose Number 2. The procedure involves connecting the fuel tube sub-assembly followed by the installation of the air cleaner cap sub-assembly before leak inspection and finishing with the installation of engine cover sub-assembly No. 1.
