2007 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the Control Arm in the front suspension on 2007 Toyota Solara?
A: The repair and servicing of Front Suspension Lower No. 1 Arm requires an initial action of removing the engine assembly with transaxle regardless of the 3MZ-FE or 2AZ-FE engine type. The service requires removal of the automatic transaxle's transverse engine mounting insulator using three nuts whereas manual transaxle owners need to take off both the 3 nuts and the 4 bolts which secure the bracket to the manual transmission. The front suspension No. 1 lower arm subassembly needs removal by loosening two front bolts and one bolt combined with a nut from the rear side of front suspension arm subassembly lower No. 1 LH until taking out front suspension arm subassembly lower No. 1 LH and the front lower arm bush stopper. Install the front lower arm bush stopper on the front suspension arm subassembly lower No. 1 LH before securing the 2 front bolts with 200 Nm (2,040 kgf-cm, 148 ft. lbs.) torque and fixing the rear bolt and nut with 206 Nm (2,100 kgf-cm, 152 ft. lbs.) torque. The automatic transaxle requires mounting the transverse engine insulator using 3 nuts set to 87 Nm (887 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.) but the manual transaxle needs bracket attachment onto the manual transmission with 4 bolts torqued to 64 Nm (653 kgf-cm, 47 ft. lbs.) before applying 3 nuts to the insulator set to 87 Nm (887 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.). Install the engine assembly with transaxle as the last step.
