2007 Toyota Sienna Wiper Motor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the front wiper motor on 2007 Toyota Sienna?
A: The front wiper motor service starts with using a small screwdriver to detach the 2 front wiper arm covers while taping the screwdriver tip before anything else. The service of front wiper motors begins by operating the wiper to reach the automatic stop position and afterward unfastening the nut and front wiper arm RH before doing the same with the front wiper arm LH. The next step requires you to separate the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly through six claw detachment. The procedure requires disconnecting the connector before removing the four bolts which will allow extraction of the windshield wiper motor and link assembly. To separate the windshield wiper motor assembly from the windshield wiper link assembly you must first unmesh the rod from the crank arm pivot with a screwdriver then remove the 3 bolts afterward; preliminary hand rotation of the crank arm makes this removal process easier. Apply MP grease to the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly before installing it with the 3 bolts to the windshield wiper link assembly requiring a torque setting of 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf). Reconnect the power supply connector to the wiper motor and link assembly before installing it with 4 bolts while tightening them to 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf). The cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly needs to be installed by tightening its six claws. You need to first operate the wiper until it reaches automatic stop before using a round file and wire brush to clean the wiper pivot serration of the front wiper arm LH. After cleaning, install the front wiper arm with the nut where torque must be 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 14.8 ft.lbf) but maintain manual contact with the arm hinge. Secure the 6 claws during front wiper arm RH installation then use the nut to fasten the arm using 20 N.m torque (204 kgf.cm or 15 ft.lbf) while holding the arm hinge. Operating the wiper while applying water or washer fluid on the window allows you to check the wiping action and verify that the front wiper avoids contacting the vehicle body before completing the process by installing the front wiper caps.
