  • Q: How to service the Vapor Canister on 2007 Toyota Sienna?
A: Service of the Evaporative Emission Control Canister demands removal of the 6 bolts securing the charcoal canister protector. First disconnect the fuel tank vent hose from the charcoal canister when you push the connector deep within till you pinch portion A and extract the connector. Service the charcoal canister filter sub-assembly by applying the connector-disconnecting method to separate it from the charcoal canister. The technician should begin by detaching the vapor pressure sensor connector followed by the wire harness clamp and purge line hose from the charcoal canister before removing its 3 securing bolts. To install the charcoal canister start by tightening the 3 bolts to 29 Nm (296 kgf.cm, 21 ft. lbs.) then connect the purge line hose followed by attaching the wire harness clamp then the vapor pressure sensor connector before linking the charcoal canister filter sub-assembly. Then reconnect the fuel tank vent hose before installing the charcoal canister protector through installation of its 6 bolts which require a torque of 5.0 Nm (51 kgf.cm, 44 in. lbs.).
