The first step to work on the Canister Purge Valve in the Emission Control System requires you to detach the negative battery cable. You must begin by separating the V-bank cover sub-assembly and purge VSV from its connector and two purge line hoses and remove it from the air cleaner hose together with the bolt and No. 1 vacuum switching valve. Secure the Purge VSV first before installing the bolt which requires a torque of 10 Nm (102 kgf.cm and 7 ft. lbs.). Reconnect both vacuum hoses as well as the connector for the No. 1 vacuum switching valve. Install the V-bank cover sub-assembly afterward while reattaching the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
