  A: The process begins by removing the oil filler cap followed by draining oil using the removal of the oil drain plug which guides oil into a container. After cleaning the plug, install a new gasket before torquing it to 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft. lbs.). Start by installing an oil filter drain plug on the inside of the oil filter cap. Then insert the pipe with attached hose having 15 mm (0.59 inch) inside diameter into the cap ensuring the O-ring is present on the oil filter cap side. Remove the entire oil liquid before extracting the pipe together with its O-ring and rotate the pipe according to the provided arrow mark. The technician must use Special Service Tool: 09228-06501 to detach the oil filter cap before removing the oil filter element and O-ring while ensuring all O-ring installation is done by hand to prevent damage to the cap. Install the new O-ring onto the oil filter cap after cleaning its entire inside surface along with both threads and O-ring groove and applying a thin amount of engine oil on the O-ring. You must install the new oil filter element while you clean the engine-side cap and its internal face. At this point apply another light coating of engine oil to the O-ring before application of Special Service Tool: 09228-06501. Torque the oil filter cap to 25 Nm using 255 kgf-cm and 18 ft. lbs while maintaining zero gap between components. Place some engine oil on a new O-ring before installation on the oil filter cap and follow by attaching the oil filter drain plug and tighten it to 13 Nm (127 kgf-cm, 10 ft. lbs.) ensuring the O-ring stays free of interference. Add clean oil to the engine followed by repositioning the oil filler cap and startup of the engine to examine leakages from both parts.
