2007 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the drive belt on 2007 Toyota Sienna?
A: The drive belt maintenance requires starting with the removal of the front wheel right and front fender apron seal right. You need to remove the V-ribbed belt after employing Special Service Tool: 09249-63010 to unwind the belt tensioner counterclockwise and extract the belt from the tensioner. A 5 mm bi-hexagon wrench must be inserted into the holes to tighten the V-ribbed belt tensioner while it is aligned counterclockwise. You should check the V-ribbed belt for damage that includes both worn areas and frayed cords before choosing a belt replacement. Acceptable rib side cracks exist but the belt requires replacement when any chunks disintegrate from the ribs. A brand new belt means operating less than 5 minutes with the engine running whereas a used belt indicates 5 minutes or longer of operation time. Review the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly function by rotating it both ways and replace it immediately if any damage occurs. Beginning the installation process requires the placement of the V-ribbed belt on all pulleys except the tensioner one. Then use a counterclockwise rotation of the belt tensioner to free its tension for fitting the belt onto the tensioner pulley. Check that the V-ribbed belt faces the tensioner and idler pulleys with proper ribbed groove placement and validate no belt slippage occurs at the crank pulley bottom. Reinstall the front fender apron seal RH together with the front wheel RH before tightening the bolts to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.).
