2007 Toyota Sequoia Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the thermostat on 2007 Toyota Sequoia?
A: Service of the thermostat begins by draining the engine coolant first. You need to drain the engine coolant while you disconnect the water inlet from its housing by removing the existing 3 nuts. The following step requires the removal of the thermostat together with its gasket. The installation requires placing a new gasket on the thermostat before positioning it inside the water inlet housing so the jiggle valve points straight up while keeping in mind the valve can be set within 30 degrees of either side of the correct position. Install the water inlet with its 3 nuts then tighten them to 19 Nm (195 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.). Complete system filling with engine coolant should be followed by engine startup and leak inspection and subsequent examination of engine coolant level.
