Managed torque tightening of the oil filter occurs until the gasket reaches the seat followed by the application of Special Service Tool: 09228-06501. Additional tools allow the tightening process of the oil filter to 17.2 Nm (175 kgf-cm, 13 ft. lbs.), however constraint in access space requires manual tightening of 3/4 turn either by hand or using a common wrench. The procedure calls for oil drain plug cleaning followed by its installation with a new gasket then requiring 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft. lbs.) torque before adding clean engine oil and replacing the oil filler cap. End the procedure by examining for oil leaks followed by reinstallation of the No. 1 engine under cover.
