2007 Toyota Matrix Wheel Stud Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the rear Wheel Stud on 2007 Toyota Matrix?
A: Service of the rear wheel stud begins by removing the rear wheel and separating the LH front brake caliper assembly of the disc brake type then removing the drum brake assembly if using drum brakes. Begin service of the LH rear wheel stud by removing it with Special Service Tool: 09628-10011 and a hammer handle or an equivalent. Begin by placing a washer followed by a nut onto the new LH hub bolt as shown in the illustration and use a hammer handle or other holding tool to fix the hub & bearing assembly before tightening the nut to install the LH wheel stud. In this order reinstall the rear brake drum sub-assembly for the rear drum brake along with the rear disc for the disc rear brake type followed by the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH for the disc rear brake type while capping it off with the rear wheel that needs 103 Nm (1,050 kgf/cm, 76 ft. lbs.) of torque.
