2007 Toyota Matrix ABS Control Module Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the ABS Control Module on 2007 Toyota Matrix?
A: A proper procedure for servicing and fixing the antilock brake hydraulic controls requires brake fluid drainage followed by the cleanup of paint surface contact areas. The first steps include removing right-hand front wheel together with front fender liner RH, front bumper cover, LH headlight assembly and windshield washer jar assembly. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the actuator with bracket while noting their positions for correct reinstallation. Release the actuator with bracket after you delete both bolts and the nut while maintaining brake tube and wire harness integrity. Next you should take off the 2 nuts which connect to the brake actuator from the bracket. We should install the brake actuator first by attaching its 2 nuts to the bracket before torquing it to 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf). Install the actuator with bracket into position using the 2 bolts and nut while torquing to 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) with a specific order of tightening from 1 to 3 before connecting the actuator connector and ensuring the lever is securely locked. When connecting each brake tube with Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to the correct positions of the actuator with bracket use a torque of 15 N.m (155 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf). Proceed with installing windshield washer jar assembly followed by LH headlight assembly and front bumper cover and front fender liner RH while torquing front wheel RH to 103 N.m (1,050 kgf.cm, 76 ft.lbf). Bleed the master cylinder with the aid of Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 then proceed to bleed the brake line before checking the reservoir fluid level and conducting a brake fluid leakage inspection. The initial step involves using an intelligent tester to inspect the actuator. Subsequently, the vehicle needs preparation for fog light aiming adjustment and proper inspection and adjustment. After completing fog light aiming the vehicle requires preparation for headlight aiming and necessary checks and adjustments to the headlights.
