2007 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Vapor Canister on 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: Before servicing or repairing the Evaporative Emission Control Canister one must disconnect the negative battery cable terminal and wait at least 90 seconds for Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation prevention. The service begins by disconnecting the connector and releasing the clamp from the canister assembly. Afterward proceed to disconnect both tubes and hose segments by raising their retainer with a screwdriver while leaving it in place. Lastly separate the purge line hose and the air inlet line tube from the canister (leak detection pump) and the vent line tube from the canister filter. The process continues with disconnecting three bolts before extracting the canister assembly. TextAlign the canister first and then tighten the 3 bolts to 14.7 N.m (150 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf) before attaching the air inlet line tube to the canister (leak detection pump) followed by connecting the vent line tube to the canister filter and finally installing the hose to the canister (before attaching the retainer). Use the connector to join components and fasten the wire into place with the provided clamp. After reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal systems need initialization because disconnecting the cable requires this step.
