  A: Service of the Fuel Pressure Regulator begins with discharging the fuel system pressure, disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable for at least 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. Service the Fuel Pressure Regulator by disconnecting the vacuum sensing hose then the fuel return hose and placing a cloth underneath before removing the 2 bolts and pull out the regulator together with the O-ring. Installation begins with applying gasoline to the new O-ring before placing it on the pressure regulator which should be turned at both left and right angles while installing to the delivery pipe before tightening the two bolts to 7.5 N.m torque (77 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf). Reinstall the V-bank cover then reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal while performing initialization across systems that need re-doing after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable. Also, check for fuel leakage during installation of the fuel return hose and vacuum sensing hose to the pressure regulator before final assembly is complete.
