2007 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install a fuel injector on 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The first step to remove a fuel injector requires users to release fuel system pressure after disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal cable and waiting a minimum of 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners. After severing the fuel pump connection Kriskate reconnects the negative battery connection. She then starts the vehicle engine until it stops automatically before shutting off the ignition switch. Let the engine turn again until it fails to start before freeing the fuel tank cap to vent all pressure. The purge VSV connector as well as the ventilation valve ventilation hose needs disconnecting for the removal of purge line hose and VSV from the intake manifold. Chose an appropriate time to detach engine wire clamps according to the manual then remove the fuel return pipe while inspecting it for debris before manual removal under a plastic bag cover. Blood should be prevented from falling and damage when you remove delivery pipes along with injectors. Simple steps follow to extract O-rings and grommets from each injector. Follow each installation step by adding new grommet and insulator to each injector then applying gasoline to a new O-ring before installing it. Insert each injector into the delivery pipe before rotating it and direct the injector connectors outward while placing the delivery pipes on the lower intake manifold before screwing them lightly. Attach the front fuel pipe by following bolt tightening specifications while testing that the injectors perform proper rotations. Use proper tools to connect the fuel return pipe to the fuel pressure regulator then tighten the pipe according to specifications by aligning the axes then checking for proper tightening. The technician must install new gaskets on the fuel pressure pulsation damper before attaching it with the union bolt tightened to the specified torque using Service Tool number 09612-24014. After reconnecting the negative battery terminal you need to complete system initialization because some systems require it before you finish installation with the intake air connector and V-bank cover.
