2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Wheel Stud Parts Q&A
Q: How to service the rear Wheel Stud on 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
A: The procedure for servicing the rear wheel stud starts by taking off the rear wheel before disconnecting the rear disc brake caliper assembly to remove the rear disc. The service process starts with removing the parking brake shoe return tension spring together with the parking brake shoe strut and parking brake shoe. Next comes the removal of the rear wheel stud with Special Service Tool: 09650-17011 along with a screwdriver or equivalent to maintain the axle hub position. Install a new wheel stud by adding a washer and a nut followed by using a screwdriver as an equivalent tool to maintain axle hub position and tighten the nut. High-temperature grease should be applied before installing the parking brake shoe followed by the parking brake shoe strut and parking brake shoe return tension spring with proper parking brake installation verification. Screw on both washer and nut to new wheel stud before tightening with a screwdriver and axle hub holder. Then apply high-temperature grease to components. After addressing the parking brake shoe clearance, place the rear disc brake caliper on the vehicle and torque it to 112 N m (1,137 kgf cm, 82 ft. lbf). Final step requires an inspection followed by adjustment of the parking brake lever travel.
