2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair a Washer Pump on 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
A: The first task for windshield washer motor service and repair involves disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. The windshield washer jar assembly requires uninstallation after disconnecting its connector and detaching the 2 bolts. Washer fluid drainage should be done through removing the washer hose connection from the windshield washer motor and pump on vehicles without rear wiper systems and disconnecting both washer hoses from models with rear wipers. The washer wiring requires removal of the connector followed by harness clamps. Additional actions for rear wiper models include the disconnection of 2 connectors and their respective clamps. The front washer motor and pump assembly should be removed by pulling it out of the washer jar packing while additional models with rear wipers require the removal of the rear washer motor and pump assembly the same way. Place both the washer components at the front into their jar packing first followed by placing the washer unit at the rear if the model has such an assembly. Connect washing system wiring by mounting connectors and harness clamps and attaching washer hoses while models with rear wipers require connection of two connectors and two clamps as well as two washer hoses. The windshield washer jar assembly requires installation using these 2 provided bolts that receive 3.5 N.m (36 kgf.cm, 31 in.lbf) torque before reattaching the connector. The washer fluid should fill the washer jar and pump assembly before reattaching the cable to the negative battery terminal while tightening it to 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf).
