2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the rear wheel speed sensor on 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
A: A service or repair process of the rear wheel speed sensor requires disconnecting the negative battery cable at its first step. The repair process starts with tire wheel removal followed by removing the rear speed sensor by disconnecting its wire and unthreading the speed sensor nut. Before installing the sensor it is essential to prevent all foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip to prevent any foreign material from entering the sensor installation area. To install the rear speed sensor start by applying the nut and make sure the sensor tip stays clean before torquing it to 8.3 N.m (85 kgf.cm, 73 in.lbf). Connect the skid control sensor wire before reinstalling the rear wheel at 112 N.m (1,137 kgf.cm, 82 ft.lbf) and torque the cable to the negative battery terminal at 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf). Perform an evaluation of the VSC sensor signal during the final check.
