2007 Toyota Corolla Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the clutch slave cylinder on 2007 Toyota Corolla?
A: You should start clutch slave cylinder service and repair by using Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to drain clutch fluid while detaching the clutch release cylinder from its flexible hose tube before collecting the fluid in a suitable container. You should start by removing the clutch release cylinder assembly through the process of unfastening its three bolts together with the tube bracket. When disassembling the cylinder body you should first remove its boot followed by the push rod and piston together with the spring while avoiding damage to the inside components before extracting the bleeder plug cap. Moderate torque of 8.4 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.) secures the bleeder plug after which the clutch release cylinder kit must be assembled by fitting the bleeder plug cap with a new spring and treating all parts with lithium soap base glycol grease before inserting the piston and push rod and boot inside the cylinder body. Secure the clutch release cylinder with the tube bracket using two bolts that require 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft/lbs) torque for installation. Afterwards, attach the flexible hose tube through a 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 inch-lbs) torque. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to connect the clutch release cylinder to the flexible hose tube with 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.) torque before filling the brake reservoir tank with brake fluid and performing clutch system bleeding at 8.4 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.). The final step will include leak checking the clutch fluid.
