2006 Toyota Corolla Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the clutch slave cylinder on 2006 Toyota Corolla?
A: Service or repair operations on the clutch slave cylinder begin with draining the fluid and disconnecting the clutch release cylinder from its flexible hose tube using Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 while capturing the fluid in a container. The next procedure requires removal of the clutch release cylinder assembly through the disassembly of 3 bolts and the flexible hose tube bracket. The service of clutch release cylinder kit begins with the removal of its components starting with the boot then push rod followed by piston and spring from the cylinder body while maintaining protection for the inside surface of the cylinder. You should next disassemble the clutch release cylinder assembly by taking off the bleeder plug caps from itsplerpruch. Complete installation by tightening the bleeder plug of the release cylinder at 8.4 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.). The clutch release cylinder kit installation requires first attaching the bleeder plug cap followed by new spring installation before adding lithium soap base glycol grease to the piston and carefully inserting it into the cylinder body. I will then proceed to install the push rod along with the boot to the cylinder body. Begin by installing the clutch release cylinder assembly with flexible hose tube bracket using 2 bolts fastened to 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.), followed by flexible hose tube bolt attachment with 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.). Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to connect the clutch release cylinder with the flexible hose tube and apply torque at 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). To conclude the procedure you must add brake fluid to the reservoir before performing a clutch system bleed where the torque reaches 8.4 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 inch lbs.) and inspect for clutch fluid leakage.
