2007 Toyota Corolla Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the alternator on 2007 Toyota Corolla?
A: The alternator removal process starts with disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery followed by the engine under cover RH. After disconnecting the negative battery terminal and removing the engine under cover RH you should proceed to follow these steps for generator assembly removal: disassemble Terminal Cap No. 2 before uninstalling Nut [B] and Generator Wire and detaching Connector [C] and Clamp [D] and Separator [E] before removing the generator with its two bolts. The first step for generator assembly installation requires tightening Bolt A to 25 N.m (250 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf) then Bolt B to 54 N.m (550 kgf.cm, 40 ft.lbf). The wiring process requires connecting the A/C connector [B] followed by putting on the wire harness clamp [C] then connecting the generator connector [D] before installing the generator wire with nut [E] where the torque should be set to 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf). To conclude the repair work you must first mount the terminal cap No. 2 then position the fan and generator V belt before installing the engine under cover RH and reattaching the battery negative terminal with a torque of 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf).
