Start the alternator servicing procedure by disconnecting the engine under cover RH and the fan and generator V belt. The alternator requires disposal of the generator assembly by first discharging the wire clamp from the rectifier end frame wire clip then removing the rubber cap together with the nut before removing both the alternator wire and connector. The two alternator securing bolts should be removed as the last step. When installing the 12 mm head bolts tighten them to 25 Nm (250 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf) and the 14 mm head bolts require a torque of 54 Nm (550 kgf.cm, 39 ft.lbf).

The generator assembly needs installation through two bolt attachments with Bolt A requiring 25 Nm (250 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf) torque and Bolt B needing 54 Nm (550 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf) torque. Begin by joining connector [B] then clamp the wire harness with component [C] followed by generator connector [D] attachment. When attaching the generator wire with the nut [E] continue until the torque reaches 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf). Installation of terminal cap No. 2 follows the previous step. Install the fan and generator V belt before covering the engine with the right-hand under cover. Finish the wiring process by torquing the negative battery terminal up to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf).

Starting an alternator repair process requires users to first detach the battery's negative terminal. The service and repair of the alternator begins with the separation of engine under cover from the right-hand side before unfastening the fan and generator V belt. Service the generator assembly by disconnecting the terminal cap No. 2 followed by unscrewing nut [B] to detach the generator wire. The generator needs to have its connector [C] detached together with the wire harness clamp [D] removal. Disconnection of the A/C connector [E] should precede the removal of two bolts that complete the process of taking out the generator.

Hand-tighten the pulley nut, then use the pulley holding tool with a torque wrench to tighten the socket clockwise to 39 Nm, followed by tightening the pulley nut to 111 Nm.

First, take off the terminal cap No. 2, then remove the nut to disconnect the generator wire.

Connect the generator connector.

Check for resistance between the positive and negative terminals and each rectifier terminal, replacing if not within specifications.

Install the air pump outlet pipe with the 2 bolts at 7.0 N.m and reconnect air hose No. 5.

Reinstall the fan and generator V belt, the engine under cover RH, the air switching valve assembly, the cylinder head cover No.2, and reconnect the battery negative terminal.

Use a socket wrench 29 and a press to slowly push the generator rectifier end frame in.

Torque the 12 mm head bolts to 25 N.m (250 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf).

Install the wire harness clamp.

54 N.m (550 kgf.cm, 40 ft.lbf).

Place the generator drive end frame on the pulley, install the rotor and washer, then push the generator rectifier end frame in and secure it with the generator cord clip and nuts at specified torques.
