• Q: How to service and repair the Brake Light Switch on 2007 Toyota Camry?

  A: Begin stop light switch repair and servicing by taking out the front door scuff plate together with cowl side trim sub-assembly, lower instrument panel finish panel LH, No. 1 instrument panel sub-assembly and lower instrument panel finish panel for Smart Key System and non-Smart Key System vehicles. The instrument cluster finish panel and combination meter must be removed as the next step along with removing the stop light switch through disconnection of its assembly connector while performing a counterclockwise rotation to take it out. Secure the stop light switch assembly by clockwise rotation of 90 degrees after ensuring the body touches the cushion and peddle support from behind to prevent insertion. The torque required for this operation should be 1.5 Nm (15 kgf-cm, 13 inch lbs.) or less than 1.5 Nm. The stop light switch connector needs to be connected and then we should verify the extension length of the rod. The operator must install the combination meter followed by the instrument cluster finish panel and then lower instrument panel finish panels for both Smart Key System and non-Smart Key System vehicles before installing the No. 1 instrument panel sub-assembly then the lower finish panels and cowl side trim sub-assembly and ending with the front door scuff plate.
