2007 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Steering Angle Sensor on 2007 Toyota Avalon?
A: The service procedure for the Steering Angle Sensor requires disconnecting the negative battery cable and positioning the front wheels toward the straight-ahead direction. Begin the service by removing the steering wheel cover lower No.2 and its counterpart No.3 before moving on to the steering pad and finally the steering wheel assembly. Moving on, detach the steering column cover lower first along with the steering column cover after which you must unlink the spiral cable from the steering angle sensor through its 6 claws. Secure the installation of the steering angle sensor by fixing it to the spiral cable until the claws remain undamaged while fully engaged. The spiral cable inspection should follow front wheel alignment before installing the spiral cable in its proper center position. After reinstaling the steering wheel assembly together with the steering pad, conduct a complete inspection of the steering pad. Reassemble the negative cable terminal and verify the SRS warning light before conducting initialization because certain systems need this sequence specifically after battery cable reconnection.
