How to Remove and Replace the Rear Center Seat Inner Seat Belt Assembly on 2007 Toyota Avalon?

Beginning the removal process requires opposite-terminal battery disconnect. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly together with the rear seat headrest assembly then extract the rear shelf cover cap followed by taking out the rear seatback assembly LH and RH alongside the rear door scuff plates LH and RH and rear door opening trim Weather Strips LH and RH and finally extract the rear seat side garnishes LH and RH and the roof side garnish assemblies inner LH and RH. The next step in removing the package tray trim panel assembly involves disconnecting the rear seat belt assembly outer before removing the nut to disconnect the rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH and finally disengaging the claws and clips from the package tray panel assembly. Apply the same sequence for installing the hardware on the LH side. Detach the rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH and LH by using correct bolts for removal. Instal the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH by placing the bolt arrow forward and tightening to 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf). To complete installation of the rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH check the retractor inclination because proper belt locking depends on it. The package tray trim panel assembly needs to be installed by connecting the connector and engaging claws and clips and securing the rear seat shoulder belt cover. The installation requires torquing the rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH nut and the rear seat belt assembly outer bolt to 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf). This step should avoid any belt overlap with the rear seat adjuster. A quick pull on the belt should activate the locking mechanism of the ELR; a non-functioning ELR requires a belt assembly replacement. Complete both the roof side garnish assembly installation on the left and right side as well as both rear seatbacks before reconnecting the negative battery terminal cable for the initialization process and warning light inspection.
